We have been extraordinarily successful in tracing the paternal side of our tree.
However, we know next to nothing about our maternal side.

Our mother's name was Edith Louis Shedden (1905-1994). We know she was first generation American and that both of her parents were born in Great Britain. They were Walter Reginald Shedden and Catherine Elizabeth Corrina Hodges. We believe that they emigrated to the United States in the late 1800's. We know she had several siblings. We know her father had a brother Sydney and that her mother, through the re-marriage of one of her parents, had some half-brothers and half-sisters. We know that, late in her life, she took a trip to England in the hopes of finding additional information about her ancestry. As far as we know, that trip was fruitless.

We have only managed to trace her back 3 generations. We are hoping that the families of her siblings and/or her parent's siblings can help push it back further.
